Suggest a Workflow from a To-Do

Some follow-up can't run on its own, because a person has to do something first.

A To-Do can suggest a Workflow, so finishing your part is what starts the next one.

See this small lightning bolt?

It tells you this To-Do suggests a Workflow.

When you click Mark Complete, the system asks if you'd like to start it for this contact.

The steps are listed here, so you can see what it does before you decide.

It's always your call, and nothing starts unless you say yes.

Here's how to set this up so one Workflow leads to the next.

Open Automation and click Workflows.

New Client Intake gets a new client started.

Client Onboarding is what should come after your first call.

Open New Client Intake.

Its last step assigns a To-Do to call the client.

Click the pencil to edit the step.

Click Workflow to suggest when completed.

Choose Client Onboarding.

Click Save.

The step now shows which Workflow it suggests.

Now let's run it for a contact.

Click Apply Workflow, choose New Client Intake, then click Apply.

The call shows up on the To-Do List with the lightning bolt.

After you make the call, click Mark Complete, then click Yes, Start Workflow.

Client Onboarding is now running for Henry, starting at step one.

You can do this on a single To-Do too, with the same field on the Add To-Do form.

Just use each To-Do's own Mark Complete button, because completing several at once never starts a Workflow.

That way, the next part starts when you're ready, and not before.
